IPL 2023 New Rules & Format – All You Need to Know About Rules:

Reviews for Wides and No Balls:

As you all know that before this year in every match, players can take reviews only for out. If a player thinks that the umpire has made a wrong decision so he takes a review to confirm it. In review, the decision is given to the third umpire. So the Board of Control of Cricket in India decided to give players a chance to take review wide and no balls also in this Indian premier league 2023. As in the previous Indian premier league 2023 if the umpire mistakenly declared a no ball which is a no ball, then all players must agree to them. They don’t have a chance to review it. So it is beneficial for all the players to take a review of wides and no balls. This is a great step taken by the Board of Control of India in the Indian premier league 2023.

2 DRS for Each Inning:

In the previous Indian Premier League seasons one team is allowed to take only one DRS. They can take only one DRS in their inning. Now in the Indian Premier League 20-23 Board of Control of India decided to increase the number of DRS for each team. The number of DRS each team will be able to take is 2. This is a good rule established by the Board of Control of India in the Indian Premier League 2023. As it allows players to clear their confusion. In the previous seasons, players are so much worried about the DRS system because there is only one DRS.

If a player thinks after taking one DRS, that some decision taken by the umpire is wrong they are not able to recheck it. But now they can review the decision taken by the umpire two times. So this rule is very helpful for the players who are playing Indian Premier League matches in 2023. This Indian Premier League will be so much exciting as the new rules are great. This is a great step done by the board of control of cricket in India. The team squad of all the teams is also waiting for this Indian Premier League 2023 with outstanding new rules. The Board of Control of India make new rules this year and they are very important rules.

Catch Dismissal:

It is a new rule that if a catch is dismissed it is decided that the new batsman will come on the strike. It will be considered irrespective of whether the previous batsman has crossed or not the strike. But this rule will be applied to all the conditions except if it is the last ball that is played by the previous batsman of the over.

Incomplete Team Due to COVID-19:

As we all know that COVID-19 is spreading too much. In India, there are many cases of COVID-19. So in any team, if their team squad is not complete due to reason of COVID 19 then their matches will be rescheduled. If all the team members are not present in the team squad of any team due to any reason then they will not play matches according to the schedule. Their schedule will be made new when their team squad becomes full.

So this is a good step and an amazing rule by the board of control of India. So for playing the matches of the Indian Premier League, every team should have a full team squad. If any players are missing due to COVID-19 or any other reason they will not be able to play matches. They will play their matches when their player list is completed. And then their matches with other teams will reschedule.

Players must know this rule as this is a very important rule for all the teams who are playing the matches of the Indian premier league 2023.

Super Over Not Completed:

There is another amazing rule made by the board of control for cricket in for Indian premier league 2023. As some matches become draws when both opponent teams make the same runs at the end of the ball. So in this case, there are some decisions taken by the head office. If in any match there is a tie and then there is a need to do a super over. And super over is not completed for any reason. Whether it is also a tie between two teams. Then the criteria for selection of the team which will win that match are now changed.

The team who played other matches of Indian Premier League 2023 with good runs is considered the winning team. The team which will be ranked higher in Indian Premier League 2023 will be the winner of that match. It is according to the new rule decided by the board of control of India. This step is great as this is good and useful for the team who work hard throughout the league. If they don’t play a single match well then it is not assumed that they are not good. So if they play other matches with great strength they will win the match in which super over also draw.

In previous seasons of the Indian Premier League players are confused that if Super Over also ties them which team will win the match. But in this season, this confusion is resolved with the help of a new rule established by the Board of Control in India. BCCI makes very beneficial rules for the players this season.
