This tournament is in the T20 format which is the shortest format of the cricket game. Many seasons of the Pakistan Super League have been played in many previous years. As you all know the Pakistan Super League season 2023 will be starting on 13th February 2023. In every season of the Pakistan Super League, 3 to 4 months after starting the league, the draft of the Pakistan Super League is announced. In the draft of the Pakistan Super League, they will tell their fans who will be on which team, and different cricketers from different cricket teams are sold out for a team.
HBL PSL Draft 2023:
The date for the draft of PSL 2023 is January 8. In the drafts of every league, there are categories of players. There are a total of five types of categories in payers which are:
- Silver
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Gold
- Emerging and Supplementary
Players Categories of PSL 2023 Draft:
In the silver category of players, they will select them last because they are considered as the lowest rated player which has not many skills as would they like. The second one is platinum which is an upper class from silver and Platinum players are also favorites to take in the team. The third category is gold and in the gold category, there are the players who are average and can help their team in tough situations.
The fourth one is a diamond category in which the most brilliant and ICC-ranking batsmen and bowlers are considered. They are most likely to take in the team and everyone tries to take the diamond players in their team. In the last category of players which is emerging and supplementary players, the power hitters are considered this category. They are the most highly rated players who are selected for the teams.
A total of 501 players will be in the draft of PSL 2023 of which 193 are Pakistani and 308 are overseas. The purchasing amount of players is based on their category. Every team will be able to pick only one player from the Platinum, diamond, and gold category. Then from the emerging and silver category, they will be able to pick two players. The other five players will be from supplementary rounds and they are the replacement of those who do not agree to play in Pakistan.
Platinum Category Draft 2023:
Every Platinum player can be picked between 140 to 230 thousand US Dollars. The minimum price for diamond players is between 70000 to 85000 US dollars. The gold player will pick in the range of 50000 to 60000 US dollars. The category in which silver players are considered, their price is between 22 to 30 thousand us dollars. And 10 to 12000 US dollars is the price of emerging players.
List of Retained Players in Every Team of PSL 2023:
The Retained players are those who are playing in a single team for many previous years and again in PSL season 2023, they are playing from that team. So following are the names of every retained player in every team:
